You will play a critical role in developing the Asian markets to grow revenue and market share, through direct sales and by enhancing the performance of our independent representative network. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have a bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and proven success selling capital equipment; experience selling customized equipment is a plus. We're looking for a professional with a demonstrated ability to drive the entire sales process, from cultivating a lead to closing the sale to providing post-sales support. You'll also need to be highly disciplined and self-motivated, able to achieve your goals with a great deal of autonomy.
Founded in 1967, Tamarack Scientific is leading the technology wave in excimer laser ablation and photolithography solutions. Whether the requirement calls for customization of existing system architecture or an entirely new tool, we approach the task with an integrated, holistic engineering outlook intended to optimize the tool for the task. In spite of a sluggish economy, we are poised for significant growth and are expanding our product line as we continue our upward trajectory.

You will work out of your home office, and you will need to live near Hong Kong International Airport. You can expect to travel overnight at least 40% of the time. In addition, you will come to the US for about two months for training.

We have had success in Asian markets but there is much more to be had. Your mission will be to leverage your knowledge of regional markets and business practices to grow both revenue and market share in Asia, supporting our aggressive growth plans. You will promote and sell laser processing, photolithography equipment, and services.
You'll divide your time between direct sales and developing the representative network. With regard to direct sales, you'll drive all aspects from prospecting and initial presentation through contract signing and post-sales follow-up. Pivotal to your success will be your ability to identify customer needs, understand their applications and issues, and recommend targeted solutions. We'll also look to you to create new business through organized sales activities such as market prospecting, networking, trade shows, representative sales programs, marketing campaigns, customer visits, etc.
Of course you also will provide regular reports, and monitor the markets for opportunities and potential threats. In addition you will assist in developing new markets and customers to meet our aggressive growth plans. You'll be able to make a valuable contribution by developing and maintaining customized sales tools, presentations, and application information to better address the Asian market and increase sales.
With regard to the independent rep network you will take the lead on ensuring we have the right people in place and that they have the knowledge and tools they need. In addition to developing and monitoring representative sales plans, you'll create and deliver training programs and coach the reps to improve performance.
